Event Architecture Creates the Home Base for GoPro at the Annual Outdoor Festival in Vail 

For the second year in a row, GoPro, the iconic manufacturer of personal action cameras, asked Event Architecture (EA) to transform one of its mobile structures into a home base for the GoPro Mountain Games. The event—known as the country’s largest outdoor celebration of adventure sports, art and music—is held every June in the heart of Vail, Colorado.

GoPro originally reached out to EA in 2018, when its European team saw one of our mobile event units being used at an event overseas. When the company was interested in renting a unit for the GoPro Mountain Games that year, they were directed to EA, which is the exclusive U.S. provider of these mobile units and other products in the innovative line of modern, modular event structures.

The EA mobile structures are ideal for temporary, live outdoor events like the GoPro Mountain Games because they’re easy to set up, climate controlled and the customization options are endless.

GoPro was so pleased with the 2018 activation they engaged EA once again for the 2019 summer festival. The biggest change for 2019? GoPro needed a structure with a larger footprint compared to the 2018 activation and ended up with an activation that was 1.5 times larger than the previous year.

In 2018, GoPro used a 33’x15’ unit along with two tent structures installed nearby. The instability of the tents, which blow over easy on a windy day, led the client to expand its usable space inside the unit instead. That was a simple request for EA to fulfill, since they can easily be expanded in 8-foot increments in depth and 15-foot increments in width. The upsized unit fit GoPro’s needs perfectly.

Ripe for branding: EA customized the mobile structure with the GoPro brand inside and out

As the main sponsor of this outdoor festival, GoPro branding is hard to miss no matter which venue you visit at the massive event. So it comes as no surprise that GoPro’s mobile unit home base would feature the client’s brand at every turn.

On the exterior, EA printed a custom graphic wrap featuring the GoPro brand and brand messaging. A large 3-D sign with the company’s logo was also installed above the front section of the structure.

The interior’s sleek, white, modern design included custom features and amenities throughout. The space—which was used for retail sales and training purposes— included:

• Custom branded solid panel graphics.

• Custom vinyl flooring with a contemporary, wood plank design.

• Custom retail slat wall product displays.

• Two custom 11’ counters for sales and training purposes.
